Ultimately it's your call. 30v and 40v developers are often used for full strength bleachings. The bleach shampoo is for those of us who want to remove dye and experience minimal damage. The higher volume the developer, the higher the risk of breakage. So be watchful, and do a strand test!

Because your purple is so faded out- yes, you could just dye over it with a med. brown. If that's not the color you're after, I would recommend you alternate between a clarifying shampoo (es- head and shoulders), and deep conditioning. Let both stand for 5-10 minutes before rinsing out. I would finish off by applying a leave-in conditioning treatment to your ends. The clarifying shampoo will help slowly fade the last bit ofthe purple outof your hair. As I sais, it is slow, but I wouldn't recommend anything more durastic until your hair has a rest.
Good luck!

Hi, I was hoping to get some advice on removing my hair color.
My hair is naturally a medium brown. I bleached it and dyed it purple with special effects dye about 8 months ago, re bleaching my roots and reapplying the color about every two months. The purple faded to a hot pink. I've been washing my hair like mad and did the vitamin c wash twice. My hair has faded but it's still hot pale pink with about an inch of brown roots. Last time my friend, a hairstylist, tried using a curling iron on my hair a few weeks ago and the ends began to melt and break off. I'm assuming this means my hair is damaged and not just the error of my friend with the curler. Can I do the bleach wash or will it make my ends fall off more? Will it take the pink out of my hair so I can get it to a natural medium brown or will I have to repeat? Please help me with any advice you can give with getting the faded purple now pink dye out of my hair!! Will I have to put dark dye over it or can I successfully lighten it to brown/ blonde an what about my roots? Thanks for you help!

I currently have pastel green hair (faded from turquoise) and my hair was almost white before I died it turquoise, I can't get the green out and I have violet bleach and 30 developer and although you said the 30 is too strong for this would it be okay if I just watched it carefully and washed it out faster (and probably do a strand test first) because I don't think ill be able to buy a lower developer in the next few days

If you paid a salon professional to lift your hair, and it turned to that brassy-blonde/black mix, I would return to the salon and complain! Go and get them to do it again, and do it properly! ..Or at least get your money back.

Are they chew-ables? If they're the regular pressed powder pills you should be fine. I wouldn't use chewable ones though.

My hair was naturally a medium brunette, I tried to dye it a dark brown one week ago but it turned black! I went to the salon and now about half is black and half is a brassy blonde color. Would the bleach bath do anything for all of my hair so I can dye it back to my medium brown? thank you

Thansk for the trply.

We did the bleach bath last night. WOW!!! but i made a school girl error by putting some on her roots towards to end which obviously went to light, like a copper yellow red. Added the red tint (schwarzkopf red passion) to mid lengths first then to roots....its has came out brilliant but with the roots slightly brighter than the rest. any suggestions?
