WATCH THIS: Earthlings — The ‘Vegan’ Maker

I love documentaries. It doesn’t really matter the subject matter, I’ll watch it. A little while back, I saw a post on Vegansaurus with a link to Earthlings, narrated by Joaquin Phoenix, a well known vegan. I’m not big on scare tactics, and though this entire movie is pretty graphic, horrific, and un-settling, I figured I would share it, as it’s moving and very well made.

If you’ve been interested in Veganism for some time and are looking for something to persuade you, look no further. If you’re vegan and losing motivation, look no further. If you’re looking for material to share with your friends and family to shut them up about your eating habits, look no further.

Interested? You can stream it online for free via the Earthlings website.

P.S – I’m not kidding about the graphic part. At one point I had to pause the movie and walk away to cry and hug my cat before I could even finish. It’s really jarring, Don’t say I didn’t warn your little, empathetic heart.

RECIPE: Quinoa Salad With Black Beans and Mango

I recently picked up the ‘Veganomicon‘,  a staple for any new (or uninspired) vegan! It features an enormous array of classic and new recipes ranging from spreads and dips, to full on courses, like the Quinoa Salad (above).

‘This salad is incredibly versatile. The basic is idea is something sweet, something hearty and a little sumpin’ sumpin’ to pull it all together, in this case cilantro. The dressing is super simple; a little vinegar and oil. All of these components can be filled in by you like one big culinary mad lib.’

And, lucky for you, they’ve published this fabulous recipe online over at the PPK! Click here for the recipe!
