See that horribly grainy photo? That’s me. Wearing a big grin, my dad’s old shirt, with piles of itchy straw poked in my pockets, collar, and sleeves. And I loved it.

So here it is, 10 embarrassing facts about me from my childhood.  Have a chuckle, and share yours below!

KimmiKillZombie’s Fan Favorite Posts of 2011

I’ve never been big into the New Year’s hooplah. Sure, I like getting drunk as much as the next person, but New Years kind of marks the last ofthe fun until summer, which usually dawns on me when I’m  stumbling through my purse at 3:15 a.m January 1st, trying to get out of the cold and into my warm, de-drunkifying bed.

But, a New Year brings a fresh outlook, a new perspective, and for some, motivation. So, let us celebrate this momentous changing of years by looking at KimmiKillZombie’s Most Popular Posts of 2011, as dictated by YOU!

Christmas Tree!

We got our tree last week! We kind of went overboard picking out a 9ft douglas fir. Even after they cut over a foot off of the bottom, we barely fit it into the car. Once we got it into our apartment, we realised the top needed to be chopped off before we could even stand it upright!  Whoops.

I apologize for the lack of posts on the blog. I’ve been working a lot, which means any time I have at home I’m asleep. I hope to get back up and running at full speed again in the new year.

I’m still posting daily on Tumblr, and sharing the occasional tidbit on my twitter. See you there!

HOLIDAY POSTS, COMMENCE!

Christmas is almost upon us! I’ve been busy on my end, starting a new job and getting my house decorated! Above is a photo I snapped of the black and pink christmas tree in my bedroom. It will have to make do for the next couple weeks until we get our real one for the front entry.

The blog will be seeing a bit of Christmas Cheer shortly, as well! Get prepared for a slew of posts filled to the brim with delicious recipes, gift ideas, and style and fashion ideas for the winter season!

My Halloween, 2011!

I spent my Halloween rather relaxed this year; handing out candy for the first year in our new apartment, and watching horror movies (and having a few cocktails) with a few friends.

Occupy Wall Street and You.

You’ve heard about Wall Street. The good and the bad. At first, the news refused to recognize about it, the hundreds of people stationed out in the streets of New York, but those numbers quickly grew into the thousand, and now they can’t stop talking.

What you probably don’t know if that on October 15th, the protests are spreading. They’re coming to your city, to your state, to your country. And whether you think you agree with the protestors or not, all I ask is that you read my post, and learn what they’re about. You may find that you too have some views in common with the hippies down on wallstreet.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians! I’ll be spending the day gorging on the delicious Seitan Roulade (pictured above) thanks to VeganYumYum! I’d also like to do a little plug for Farm Sanctuary again this year for those of you looking for an prooactive-alternative to the traditional Turkey Dinner. Why not adopt a Turkey, instead of eating one?

Pass the potatoes, please.
