Christmas Tree!

We got our tree last week! We kind of went overboard picking out a 9ft douglas fir. Even after they cut over a foot off of the bottom, we barely fit it into the car. Once we got it into our apartment, we realised the top needed to be chopped off before we could even stand it upright!  Whoops.

I apologize for the lack of posts on the blog. I’ve been working a lot, which means any time I have at home I’m asleep. I hope to get back up and running at full speed again in the new year.

I’m still posting daily on Tumblr, and sharing the occasional tidbit on my twitter. See you there!

Occupy Wall Street and You.

You’ve heard about Wall Street. The good and the bad. At first, the news refused to recognize about it, the hundreds of people stationed out in the streets of New York, but those numbers quickly grew into the thousand, and now they can’t stop talking.

What you probably don’t know if that on October 15th, the protests are spreading. They’re coming to your city, to your state, to your country. And whether you think you agree with the protestors or not, all I ask is that you read my post, and learn what they’re about. You may find that you too have some views in common with the hippies down on wallstreet.

Festival of Fear at Fan Expo Canada

This weekend I’ll be at the Fan Expo in Toronto! A minor horror nut, it’s my first year at Rue Morgue’s Festival of Fear, so I’m going to be running around like a kid in a candy store ( maybe ‘like a chicken with it’s head cut off’ is more fitting..) the entire weekend! From Friday to Monday, I’ll be browsing booths, partying at the official Horror Party Saturday night, and nosing up with Horror Heavy’s like SFX Master — Tom Savini, and Freddie Kruger Actor  — Robert Englund!

Follow me on Twitter for live updates of my frightening weekend!

Chocolate Obsessed with the Organic Oven Bakery!

Yesterday a friend showed up at our door, with a BIG, CHOCOLATEY, SURPRISE.  A couple of weeks back, he had ordered us a cake from The Organic Oven Bakery.

I was a little tentative, as the cake had ‘GLUTEN AND DAIRY FREE’ largely printed on the side of the box. Plus he had ordered it through a local health food store, which I found slightly odd. Nutrition supplements and chocolate cake? Alright, then.

But once we popped open the box, we were pleasantly surprised. The cake had two layers, was iced, and even decorated with little frosting rosebuds around the edges.

And the rosebuds did not disappoint. [Read more...]

Happy Mother’s Day!

Wishing you and your’s a happy Mother’s Day! I don’t usually blog on Sundays, but I’m at an amusement park (avoiding my mother), so I thought I’d gloat a little bit.

Yep, I’m probably on this rollercoaster right now.

P.S- I’m not actually avoiding my mother.. for the whole day. There will be a flower-filled visit on our way home. If she’s lucky I might even win her a spongebob.

Sunday Night Out; Ghost Stories Toronto and The Live Food Bar

Sunday Night, the boyfriend and I headed towards down on a long awaited night out. We had purchased tickets to a new show debuting in town, Ghost Stories, to which we were very excited about, but knew little. Afterward we had a quick, late dinner at a neat little Vegan/Raw Toronto Restaurant, The Live Food Bar, for Toronto’s first Veggielicious!

Unfortunately, I haven’t any time for a beauty/style related blog tooday… Ke$ha is playing tonight at the Kool Haus in Toronto, and I’ve yet to work up a smokey eye! Plus, I still need to leave room for pre-drinking and train-catching.

If you’re also headed to the show tonight, Toronto Readership, feel free to say Hello if you spot me (in the form of a vodka-sprite, you’retookind)!
